Why I became a Couple and Family Therapist

I was lucky to grow up with a family that supported and loved one another. We were not without our struggles (what family is?) but at the core, you knew there were people in your life you could rely on. As a young adult I witnessed that not all families were as lucky as mine. Divorce, mental health struggles, addiction and other issues contributed to the fallout of the family.  I decided as a young college student that I needed to work with people in a helping profession. In college, I majored in psychology and in grad school I earned my masters in Educational Psychology and Counseling Psychology.  Here I am, over 20 years later, and life as a relationship therapist, wife and mother have taught me a thing or two. What I have learned is while there is no such thing as the perfect relationship or family, there is such a thing as having a fulfilling, loving relationship with the people you care about the most.

Outside of my work, I am passionate about living in Colorado and taking advantage of the outdoors! I like to brag that I am a true Colorado native. I love to ski in the winter and take long walks listening to my favorite podcasts or audiobooks when the sun is shining.  I also love to travel and use my passport as a bridge to learning about other cultures around the world.  I truly believe we are more alike than different.  I reside in the DTC area with my husband and two daughters and my dog, Rocky.
