I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialty in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Colorado at Denver as well hold a designation as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I also earned a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from UCD along with becoming a Licensed School Teacher in the state of Colorado. I taught elementary school for over six years before beginning my career in counseling. In my years as a teacher, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of children and families. My background in teaching has provided a solid foundation to my work as a family therapist. I believe that teaching and therapy go hand in hand.
Additionally, as a married mother of two children, I have real life experience successfully managing the ups and downs of being in a committed relationship and raising kids at the same time. I know first hand how hard marriage and parenting can be at times. I also have learned that with guidance, knowledge and skills relationships and parenting alike can be more fun and successful!
