Why I became a Couple and Family Therapist
I was lucky to grow up with a family that supported and loved one another. We were not without our struggles or conflict (what family is?) but at the core, you knew there were people in your life you could rely on. As a young adult I witnessed that not all families were as lucky as mine. Divorce, mental health struggles, addiction and other issues contributed to the fallout of the family. In college, I majored in psychology and went on to get my masters in Educational Psychology and a second masters in Counseling Psychology, knowing that I wanted to help people live there best life. Here I am, 20 years later, and life as a relationship therapist, wife and mother have taught me a thing or two. What I have learned is while there is no such thing as the perfect relationship or family, there is such a thing as having a fulfilling, heart-centered, loving relationship with the people you care about the most.
Outside of my work, I am passionate about living in Colorado and taking advantage of the outdoors! I like to brag that I am a true Colorado native, born and raised. I love to ski in the winter and take long walks all year long. I also love to travel and use my passport as a bridge to learning about other cultures around the world. I truly believe we are more alike than different. I reside in the DTC area with my husband and two daughters and my dog, Rocky.
